this week is all about actually achieving our goals…
Looking back to the goals set the previous week and making actionable plans to go about achieving these.
how to achieve your goals
1. Choose Goals That Inspire You
Set goals that are personal to you and inspire you. Don’t copy the ambitions of friends, pursue something you’re passionate about, something that genuinely interests you. This helps create a sense of purpose that will motivate you to stop thinking and start doing.
2. Be Proactive
You need to be proactive if you want things to happen. You need to stop comparing yourself to others and wishing you had that job, that lifestyle, that social life and instead, get out there and be proactive.
3. BE POSITIVE
Project negativity to the world and it will come right back at you. Tell yourself ‘you can’t do this and you can’t do that’ and you won’t be able to do it. Having a ‘can do attitude,’ even if you’re faking it, can really help you realise your goals.
4. Be Balanced
It’s easy to get obsessed with goal setting and achievements. For long term success and to avoid burnout be realistic with your goals and objectives and set aside regular time to rest and reset.
5. Break It Down
If you start to feel overwhelmed, break down your goals into time-frames and action points. Be specific about what you want to achieve, when and by what means to make your goals feel much more attainable.
6. Embrace Failure
Goal setting rarely runs smoothly. Failure is part of the process. Don’t let inevitable stumbling blocks and failures get you down, acknowledge they happen, learn from them and move on.
7. SPREAD THE WORD
Telling people about your goals and plans will add possitive pressure and motivation to succees as well as networking opportunities .
8. Get Help
Don’t struggle alone. Sometimes there’s only so far you can take a project before you need a new perspective.
9. Track Your Progress
A huge incentive to achieve your goals can be seeing how far you’ve come already. If your business journey has suddenly hit a standstill and you're tempted to fall back into old (bad) habits, remind yourself of how well you’ve done up to this point.
Throughout your business journey keep records. Keeping track of good weeks and bad weeks also helps you to address your weaknesses and how to overcome them.
10. Visualise The End Result
Losing sight of the end result will encourage you to veer off course. One of the best ways to stay motivated is by visualising the change you want to see. Make this image clear in your mind - the ‘business you hope to achieve’ in X amount of months - so when the odd setback does happen, you won’t be fazed and will come back stronger than ever.
And when you do hit your target, mark the occasion and enjoy and celebrate it.
achieving your goals exercise

By the end of November, I will have prepared my portfolio for potential clients
By the end of October, I will have set up my business social media and created a social media marketing plan

2. Describe possible solutions for any obstacles you may encounter
week 6 book
This week’s book recommendation is ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins.
To find the keys to greatness, Collins's 21-person research team read and coded 6,000 articles, generated more than 2,000 pages of interview transcripts and created 384 megabytes of computer data in a five-year project. The findings will surprise many readers and, quite frankly, upset others.
